Safety Nudge: Make safety conversations personal

The first question your workers will ask themselves when a meeting starts is (WIIFM) – What’s in it for me?

As soon as your workers make up their mind and answer this question (“not much!”), they will mentally check out

If you want to make a difference with safety conversations, make a personal connection between the topic and your workers

If the safety conversation is not related to;

1. a task that your workers do or
2. a place where your workers are active

You will find it difficult or impossible to keep their attention
